First Beach Music Artist and Song Induction

Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina had a ceremony Sunday to induct the first class of artists and songs into the new Beach Music Hall of Fame which will be located at the school.

Eight performers were inducted: Hank Ballard & the Midnighters, Ruth Brown, The Clovers, Fats Domino, The Drifters, Louis Jordan, Amos Milburn and Big Joe Turner.

First ten songs inducted:

SIXTY MINUTE MAN-- Dominoes
SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL-- Big Joe Turner
AIN'T THAT A SHAME-- Fats Domino
THE GREAT PRETENDER-- Platters
GREEN EYES-- Ravens

MAMA HE TREATS YOUR DAUGHTER MEAN-- Ruth Brown
NIP SIP-- Clovers
ONE MINT JULEP-- Clovers
WHITE CHRISTMAS-- Drifters
DRINKIN' WINE SPO-DEE-O-DEE-- Sticks McGee
