Music Deaths: Gayle McCormick, Singer With Smith

GAYLE McCORMICK, 67, Died March 1, 2016.

Started singing in St. Louis with Steve Cummings & Klassman then went to California and took over a defunct band called Smith.  Was signed to ABC-Dunhill Records and had one big hit with the Shirelles' "Baby It's You" which went to #5 in 1969.  The band had less success after this hit and disbanded in 1971.
