Music Deaths: Tommy Allsup: Lost Coin Toss to Ritchie Valens
TOMMY ALLSUP, 85 Died January 11, 2017.
Guitarist touring with Buddy Holly on the ill-fated Winter Dance Party tour. Flipped a coin with Ritchie Valens for a seat on the plane. He later played with Roy Orbison.
He was scheduled again to play at the Surf Ballroom in Iowa on the anniversary of the crash this year.
