WLS Top 30 for Week of May 15, 1972-- Part 3: 'Song Sung Blue'

These were the Top 30 hits in Chicago fifty years ago according to powerhouse WLS 890 AM.

*  Means the song was climbing the charts.  The number after the artist is how high the sing got on the Billboard Hot 100 national charts.

20.  *SONG SUNG BLUE--  Neil Diamond      #1     A comment on the You Tube site said that she was sang on the background in her first professional job.  She was just ten and sang with a woman and two other young girls.

19.  *SLIPPIN' INTO DARKNESS--  War      #16     Who's got the Funk?

18.  *YOU COULD HAVE BEEN A LADY--  April Wine     #32     I had forgotten this nugget of a song.  Rocking Canadians formed in 1969 from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

17.  CASTLES IN THE AIR--    Don McLean     #12      Follow up to you-know-what.  Flipside of "Vincent."

16.  THE FAMILY OF MAN--  Three Dog Night     #12      Love that organ.  A comment said they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  How can that be?
