Lead singer with Jay & the Americans. Group got their name from Leiber and Stoller. Lead singer originally was Jay Traynor. When he left, David Black took over lead vocals and agreed to adopt the name Jay Black.
The group had a #5 song in 1962 with "She Cried" with Jay Traynor singing lead.
