Retirees Seek To Stay Put, Including Us

From the October  2018 AARP Bulletin.

3 in 4 Want to Retire in Place.

Well, Liz and I would be in that number.

While other friends of ours almost immediately move to somewhere warmer within a year or less of retirement, we are still here after retiring in 2005 (Liz) and 2006 (me).  We're even still in the same house.

A new survey of people 50+ by AARP shows that 3 in 4 people --77 percent-- agree with the statement, "I'd really like to remain in my community as long as possible."

This survey was conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago.
