* Means the song was climbing the charts. The number after the artist is how high it got on the Billboard National Hot 100 Charts.
20. DOESN'T SOMEBODY WANT TO BE LOVED-- Partridge Family #6 Some of the comments said that David Cassidy really hated this song. I thought it was okay. The "Partridge Family" TV show ran from 1970 to 1974 and was based on the music group Cowsills.
19. KNOCK THREE TIMES-- Dawn #1 How many times do you hit the pipe? Kind of but can't help to move to this song. This is sure a funny way to conduct your love affair. One comment said that Tony Orlando looked like a Puerto Rican Freddie Mercury in the video. I don't know.
18. SHE'S A LADY-- Tom Jones #2 His biggest hit. Okay ladies, hold onto your undergarments. This song and several others on this countdown sure remind me of my trip with Tom Smith in his Volkswagen Beetle to Florida for Spring Break this year.
17. IF I WERE YOUR WOMAN-- Gladys Knight & the Pips #9 R&B family group from Atlanta. One powerful and gifted voice here.
16. SWEET MARY-- Wadsworth Mansion #7 Great little pop song. One person commented that this was the first song he recorded on his cassette player. Was this a marijuana thing? This was their only ever Top 100 song so a true One-Hit Wonder in the truest form of the name.
