This past Sunday, Bob Stroud had his fourth and final installment of his annual "Summer of" series on summers of fifty years ago. That would make it the songs on our radios and in our record collections on September 4, 1972.
I was back in DeKalb, Illinois, getting ready to finish up my senior year at Northern Illinois University. As much as I was having a really good time in college, I knew it was time to move on with my life.
