Getting Ready for the Beach

Heading down to Panama City Beach and hoping for better weather than we had last year which was way too cold for me. All the regular snowbirds there said it was the coldest winter they ever remember.

But, hey, it was still 20 to 40 degrees warmer than here in Northern Illinois.

We have reservations at the usual place, the Driftwood Inn, where we have stayed the last three years now. Out idea of a great place on the beach, a smaller mom and pop operation. Forget those huge towers.

We stay at what they call the cabana rooms. Walk out the door to the room and the next place going south is the Gulf of Mexico. And the price, $57 a day is very reasonable.

One trip this month to Florida wasn't enough for me, even with 40 to 50 degree weather forecast for here over the next several days.
