Where Were You January 1, 1972?-- Part 3

FOOTSTOMPIN' MUSIC-- GFR-- Top Ten from album E. Pluribus Funk.
BITTER BLUE-- CAT STEVENS-- From Teaser and the Firecat. The album was in the Top Ten--a deep cut from side two. (I really liked this album.)

STAY WITH ME-- FACES-- From the great new album A Nod Is As Good As a Wink to a Blind Horse., the first single release. (I always thought this was just a Rod Stewart song for some reason.)
FAMILY AFFAIR-- SLY & THE FAMILY STONE-- From the album There's a Riot Going On.

EVERYTHING'S COMING OUR WAY-- SANTANA-- Good deep track from side two of Santana 3.
AMERICAN PIE-- DON McLEAN-- Hands down the most intriguing song of the era, climbing its way up to #1 on the singles chart here in town. Not there yet, but would be in another week. Somewhat of a new-comer, Don McLean, although he had releases before this, but this was the one that really put him in the forefront. (I tried singing it on karaoke once. Won't do that gain. Boy, does he sing fast.)
