Music Deaths: Leon Redbone
LEON REDBONE, 69
Died May 30, 2019
About as unique of a musician as you can get. His music defies genre. Specialized in jazz, blues and Tin Pan Alley songs. Easily recognized by his Panama hat and dark sunglasses. Released eighteen albums and sang the theme song to TV's "Mr. Belvedere."
Provided the voice of snowman Leon in the movie "Elf."
I have several of his albums. For some reason I always thought of him as being from New Orleans with his eclectic music.
