Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

Music Deaths: David Munden of the Tremeloes (Better Than the Beatles?)

DAVID MUNDEN. 76

Died 15 October 2020

Drummer and vocalist with the Tremeloes.

Original drummer and frequent lead singer of the Tremeloes.  Best-known for their covers of "Do You Love Me,' "Here Comes My baby" and "Silence Is Golden."

In 1963, their cover of "Do You Love Me" topped the British charts, replacing the Beatles' "She Loves You."

Quite popular in the UK with 21 Top 40s, 11 Top tens and two #1s.  Their biggest year in the U.S. was 1967:

"Here Comes My Baby"  #13 written by Cat Stevens

"Silence is Golden"   #11  written by Bob Crew & Bob Gaudio (writers of the Four Seasons)

"Even the Bad Times Are Good"  #36

Remember, Decca auditioned the Beatles on Jan. 1, 1962, but decided to go with the Tremeloes.  Oops.
