Every Blooming THing: Early July

I have spotted (and killed) a few of those lousy Japanese beetles, but am not complaining as the horrible infestation we had for the first twenty years here finally seems to have passed.  They haven't been bad the last three years.

Still having to cut the grass less than a week apart because of all the rain we keep getting.  Usually, by this time of the year, I only have to cut every 7-10 days.

The spirea bushes are blooming as are the Asiatic and day lillies.  Purple coneflowers are getting ready to bloom as are the hostas and mums.

This is prime time for color in the yard.
