(D) refers to a debut song.  The number after the performer is the top position reached on the Billboard national Top 100.

40.  LADY--  Jack Jones (D)  #39    If you like Frank Sinatra, you'll like him.  Had 20 Top 100s 1962-1968. His biggest hit was "Wives and Lovers" (#14-1963).

39.  ONE MORE MOUNTAIN TO CLIMB--  Ronnie Dove (D)  #45  Born in 1940 in Virginia.

38.  CALIFORNIA NIGHTS--  Lesley Gore  (D)  #16  Her last top 40.  Born New York City in 1946.

37.  HIPPY DIPPY WEATHERMAN--  George Carlin  (D)   Did not rank.  Mighty funny guy.

36.  DETROIT CITY--  Tom Jones   (D)  #27   Had 30 Top 100s.  The pride and joy of New South Wales.
