Can it be that many years ago...1967, when Sgt. Pepper taught the Lonely Heart's Club Band to play. Today marks the 40th anniversary of that seminal release. It was the Summer of Love, with hippiedom flourishing in Haight-Asbury in San Francisco. This was a psychadelic album as the Beatles ventured into that realm. And, of course, took the Baby Boomers with them.
This album had great songs, but, I still like the earlier Beatle albums better.
In 1967, my family went for a major cruise from Palatine, Il., all the way out to San Francisco. Believe it or not, Dad actually took us to Haight-Asbury, something I never thought would happen. Strange people. The art was something else.
