Things are really hopping around here with Sunday's game between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. When you live right along the border between Wisconsin and Illinois, you get quite a mix of allegiances with most folks rabid for one team and deeply hating the other.
Our little village, Spring Grove, Illinois, made the news several years ago when a Green Bay fan was taken out of KC's Cabin up on Il-173 and duct-taped to the stop sign when he got too boisterous over a Packer victory. When the cops released him and asked if he wanted to press charges, he said no and went back in to continue his drinking.
We've met that Packer fan, and he is all cheese.
The two teams last played each other in a championship game 70 years ago on December 14, 1941. That's right, the Sunday after Pearl Harbor. So, it's been a long time.
Many are saying this is the real Super Bowl game and it sure is going to have most watching it Sunday. Our group, the Usual Suspects, already have our reserved area at Fire Wood in McHenry for the game.
