Where Were You January 9, 1967?-- Part 2

Again, these were songs playing on your radio back all those43 years ago.

98.6-- KEITH--
CAN;T YOU SEE (THAT I REALLY LOVE YOU)-- FLOCK-- From Chicago, Illinois, their first local hit which made its CD debut on Rock and Roll Roots Vol. 11. (I don't remember it.)

NASHVILLE CATS-- LOVIN' SPOONFUL-- (I sure hated country music back then, but could handle this song.)
KNOCK ON WOOD-- EDDIE FLOYD-- New from Stax Records in Memphis, Tennessee. (Those great Booker T. & the MGs backing him up.)

DANCING IN THE STREET-- MAMAS AND PAPAS-- "B" side of two-sided hit. Cover of an old Martha and the Vandellas hit.
I NEED SOMEBODY-- ? AND THE MYSTERIANS-- Follow up to "96 Tears." (And sure sounded like it.)

LET'S SPEND THE NIGHT TOGETHER-- ROLLING STONES-- The "B' side of a double sided hit, the one you'd rarely ever hear on the radio back in those days. You didn't hear this ever on the radio because of the title and subject matter of the song which pushed the envelope just a little too much for January 9, 1967. The other side of the hit got all sorts of airplay.
(WE AIN'T GOT) NOTHIN' YET-- BLUES MAGOOS-- (Kind of psychedelic meets garage rock.)

Not Finished Yet. --RoadDog

YOU'RE A FLORIDIAN IF...You've worn shorts and used the A/C on Christmas and New Year's Day.
