Good Times in the Area: Chain Crawl Kickoff Party and Hawks Game

MAY 16TH, FRIDAY: Met Sue and Paul at Dirty Rooster in Antioch and then Kevin and Kelly at the Legion in Fox Lake.

MAY 17TH, SATURDAY:  Kick-off party for 2014 Chain Crawl.  This is a boating thing (even though our boat is still in the barn in Hebron).  38 places in one summer to go to and get passports stamped.  Always a good time.  We picked up our passport, tee shirt and book at Port of Blarney in Antioch (On channel off  Grasslake)..  Then had lunch at Bella Luke's Hot Dogs in Fox Lake.  Got our second stamp at the Lagoon Lounge (off Pistakee Lake) in Fox Lake who now have throwback Hamm's Beer "From the Land of Sky Blue Waters" on tap.

Next stop at Dockers ( Pistakee Lake)in Fox Lake where we met a fun couple and then El Puerto on Nippersink Lake.

Came home and cut the grass and then went to Captain's Quarters (off Fox Lake) and saw the band Hans & the Harmones and their hectic rock.  The place was packed.

So, we got five passport stamps today.

MAY 19TH, SUNDAY:  The main thing today, after listening to my two radio shows in the morning (Rock and Roll Roots and Breakfast With the Beatles) was the playoff game between the Black Hawks and LA. Kings (this matches up the winners of the Stanley Cup the last two years).  Lots of fun with food and drink specials, air horns, flashing lights and "Chelsea Dagger" when the Hawks would score.

Big crowd as usual and most in Hawk gear and cheering.  We had eight of our Usual Suspects football-watching crew there as well.

Afterwards went to Rusty Nail in Ringwood and then Antonio's in Spring Grove with Kevin and Kelly.

Not a Bad Weekend.  --RoadDog
