Music Deaths 2014: David Anderle

DAVID ANDERLE, 77.  Died September 1, 2014.

American record producer.  Graduated Fairfax High School in Los Angeles where he was a classmate of Herp Alpert, Jerry Most and Shel Talmy.

Convinced MGM to sign Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention in 1965 and helped the Beach Boys establish their own record label, Brothers Records.

Went to Elektra in 1968 and worked with Judy Collins, the Doors and Love.

In 1970 to A&M Records (with his old classmates) and produced Rita Coolidge, Delaney & Bonnie, Kris Kristofferson and the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

He later supervised the music in the film :Good Morning Vietnam, "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty in Pink."
