ShamROCK Chicago: Aiming to be Greenest

From the Feb. 13, 2015, Chicago Tribune "City aims to be globe's greenest this weekend" by Lizzie Johnson.

LIGHTS, RIVER, FACES TO HELP CELEBRATE DEEP IRISH HERITAGE.

As I sit here listening to Irish Music off one of my cassettes, here's some more green for you.

Chicago is going for the title "Greenest City in the World" this weekend for the second year in a row.  Reportedly, the city will have more green-lighted buildings than any other city.  Chicago St. Patrick's Day celebrations include pub crawls, at least three parades as well as the "Greening O' the River.  I wrote about how the Chicago River gets dyed green Saturday and today in my RoadDog's RoadLog Blog.

Fifteen structures are being lighted up including Trump Tower, Navy Pier, John Hancock Center, Art Institute of Chicago, Soldier Field and Old St. Patrick's Church.  Maybe Der Donald should dye that whatever's on his head green.

Tourism Ireland has created the "Greenest City" campaign to get cities and landmarks around the world to "Go Green" as it were.
