Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

2000 to 2009 in Review-- Part 2

Being an account of twenty events that took place in the US, Illinois and Chicago area for the last decade.

11. The former Illinois First Lady, Mrs. Blagojevich, was on a reality show. I bet I didn't watch it. And not because it was a "Reality Show."

12. More than 120,000 attend a woman's golf event at Sugar Grove in 2009.

13. Communicating virtually explodes with Facebook, My Space and Twitter. I've never "done" any of these so am incognito? Do blogs and Yahoo e-mail groups count?

14. A hockey game was played at Wrigley Field Jan. 1, 2006. Hey, if Jimmy Buffett can play there, the Blackhawks certainly can. After all, the Cubs sure don't play there.

15. And, speaking of the Blackhawks, "How 'Bout Dem Blackhawks?"

16. The Breeder's Cup at beautiful Arlington Park Race Track in 2002.

17. Loss of businesses: Randhurst Mall in Mt. Prospect torn down in 2009 (an important part of my high school days); Kimball Hill Builders, Linens & Things; Bennigan's; Pep Boys (they're back); Wicke's Furniture; and Circuit City (which i really miss.)

18. Quite a few Chicagoland athletes in the Olympics.

19. No more Tiger Woods?

20. The Daily herald is still publishing in all these newspaper problems.
