The End of Another Boating Season-- Part 1

Looks like today will be the last day out on the boat for the 2010 season. The days are getting shorter and it is definitely cooler. All things that say, "Get the boat out of the water."

We did end up going out on the boat 40 times for the season. Liz's eye operations kind of put a dent in outings since early September. We did, however, meet the minimum of 30 times on the boat.

Most of the times we went out was for just doing what we like to call a "Boat Float." This is where we go out into the middle of a lake or bay (usually Fox Lake and Mineola Bay), turn off the engine and float while listening to the Drive (WDRV Radio) and reading newspapers and magazines for me and working crossword puzzles for Liz.

We're even too lazy to put out the anchor which means we have to start up the engine and move back to the middle (or opposite shore because of wind) and do the whole "Boat Float" over again.

A Day Out on the Chain...Priceless. --RoadDog
