SUNDAY OCTOBER 17th
One thing about Dekalb and Northern Illinois the morning after a homecoming celebration. Not many creatures are stirring, especially of your garden variety student.
Took a drive by the Lagoon and Altgeld Hall and then out through Augusta Avenue, a perfect residential area to complement a college environment and home of ther Delta Sig house when I pledged in 1970.
Stopped at a couple places on Sycamore Road (Il-23) looking forward some more Thompson's Cedartone stain for the gazebo, then drove down that great downtown of Sycamore.
We didn't go straight home, but went to the Kross Inn in Ingleside on Il-59, where we met the usual suspects for the Bears game. Kross Inn was just opened again after being bought by the folks who own Electric Harbor and Captain's Quarters (both on the Chain of Lakes).
Usual suspects: Kora, Pam, Sue and Paul, Kevin and Kelly, Laura and Ed.
Bears sure shot themselves in the foot and lost a game they should have won. Again, way too many Cutler sacks.
Then, the Packers lost by three points also.
