Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

The Drive's A to Z About to Begin

Less than a half hour to go before Chicago's WDRV, the Drive, begins their week long, or more, odyssey to play classic rock songs starting with the letter "A" all the way to "Z". Over 2,000 songs. Always a good listen at www.wdrv.com.

That's what I'll be tuned into every chance I get.

FIRST SONG PLAYED: "ABACAB" by Genesis.

ONE LAST LOOK AT OCTOBER 9, 1968

Bob Stroud, on WDRV's Rock and Roll Roots, likes to come off commercial break with a snippet of another song that was on the radio back then.

HELP YOURSELF-- Tom Jones
FOOL ON THE HILL-- Sergio Mendes & Brazil '66
YOU ARE MY SPECIAL ANGEL-- Vogues-- Originally by Bobby Helms in 1957. He was better known for the Christmas classic "Jingle Bell Rock." (Guess I'll have to dig that one our soon.)
I'M BLACK, I'M PROUD-- James Brown
OVER YOU-- Gary Puckett & the Union Gap

It's a "Five O'clock World" (Loved the Drew Carey Show bit on this song) Somewhere, Right Jimmy? --RoadDog
