Last Day of Donovan's Reef

Yesterday was the very last day Donovan's Reef in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, (as we knew it) was open and we had to be there for it. We've been going here since around 1994 and have spent many great times there enjoying libations, football and baseball games and, of course, a lot of the NTN trivia game on the TVs. We had a whole lot of Top Twenties for NTN and were usually one of the top sites in Wisconsin. We've eaten a lot of food there as well. //// Anyway, the owners are closin it for two weeks to renovate it. I do not know what all they'll be doing or what the name will be when they reopen. Sadly, the Florida Beach Bar motiff, with the bamboo bar and cocomut fronds over it will be gone, as well as the three big fake palm trees outside. //// We saw it off with a showing of the John Wayne movie "Donovan's Reef" for which the bar got its name. I took lots of video on the VHS-C camcorder and we're trying to get one of the movie photos that were up on the walls as well as the Donovan's Reef sigh above the bar. //// It will be interesting to see what it looks like when it reopens. //// Gone, But Never to be Forgotten. --RoadDog
