The Stooges and Me

Up at 6:30 and hurried downstairs so I could record as much as I could of Countdown with the Stooges on AMC.

Twenty-four hours of pure Stooge Mania. And the old, grainy black and white shorts have been cleaned up and digitalized so we see just what the folks back in the 30s and 49s saw. Plus, the period shots of buildings, styles and down towns take you immediately back to the era.

"Quiet numb skulls, I'm broadcasting!" Love that quote from Little Steven's Underground Garage in the intro.

Great contrast between the rich and regular folk. And you especially have to like the way they "get" the upper crust.

Too many commercials, though. The Stooges are best served straight. All so far have been with Curly, my all-time favorite. Definitely not a good idea to be in their proximity if you want to avoid pain. Always looking for a way to make a buck in the depression.

Thoughts to Ponder: Life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.
