"Cheezborgers and Cheeps" 75th Anniversary

Congratulations to Chicago's landmark Billy Goat Tavern which turned 75 today.

The first one opened this date back in 1934 across from what today is the United Center. Of course, the famous one is the one under the "El" tracks.

Great food, drinks, and a slice of Chicago even with the exorbitant sales tax.

The Billy Goat was made famous by the Saturday Night Live sketch where "Cheezborgers, no fries, cheeps" were ordered.

Cub fans lament the Billy Goat incident which must be the reason the current futility continues. Back in the 1945 World Series, the LAST one the Cubs played in, the Billy Goat's owner brought his pet goat to the game and were thrown out. He angrily declared that the Cubs would NEVER win a World Series after that. They lost that one and have never been back. Coincidence?

Did they say "Cheezborger" or "Cheezboiger?" --RoadDog
