Chain Flood of 2017-- Part 7: Storms Predicted

The storm hat has been plaguing us hit a week ago today in the early morning hours and a couple times after that.

Water has crested in the Chain of Lakes and is dropping very slowly.  Lots of flooding.  The boat is still floating at the pier as of yesterday.  I have gone out and checked t every day since last Wednesday.  Liz will not go look at it as it will bother her too much, even though I tell  her if we have flooding it is far better to have a boat than a house in danger.

Hey, boats float!!

The flood is the subject of part of ever conversation everywhere we go.

Yesterday, we met Paul and Sue at Half-Times in Johnsburg.  Their boat is still on the lift in Long Lake.  They, like us, can't do anything about getting it off and onto land.  They spent a lot of the weekend working with sandbags at Squaw Bar and a friend's house on Squaw Creek.

And the worst part of all this is that we are forecast to essentially have major storms until Sunday.  More rain would be bad,   but strong winds would be a disaster as the piers are stressed to the maximum.
