A Pretty Good Weekend-- Part 2

May 21st-- SATURDAY

Drove to Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, and ate lunch and played NTN at Donovan's Reef (named for the movie starring John Wayne and Lee Marvin). Owners Tommy and Lenny were meeting with people in regards to rebuilding the motel that had a fire in early February that unfortunately resulted in one death.

MAY 22nd-- SUNDAY

Bob Stroud played Rolling Stone Magazine's Seventy Best Bob Dylan songs on his Rock and Roll Roots Show on the Drive radio station, cherry-picking since his show is just three hours long. He also played covers of some of the songs.

Terri Hemmert, on WXRT, also had her weekly Breakfast with the Beatles show for two hours.

SAND BAR & ISLAND GRILL

Caught some rays OD, then drove back to Twin Lakes, this time to the Sand Bar on Lake Elizabeth, the larger of the two lakes. This used to be where Mad Dan's was located, a very popular eating place.

Going here is like being down in the Florida Keys. The eating and bar area is completely screened in with all those great breezes (they're closed during the winter). Trop Rock and Reggae play on the speakers. A real party atmosphere and quite crowded.

More to Come. --RoadDog

EVER WONDER...Why women can't put on mascara with their mouths closed?
