How's This for Some Soul For You?-- Part 1

From Fessa John Hook's Dancing on the Edge News.

The Fessa took a look at the June 26, 1967, WDAS radio Soul Sounds survey of the Top Thirty Soul Songs in Philadelphia. Of course, the Fessa did it with Beach Songs in Mind.

I am familiar with most of them. Some of them were made more famous by someone else.

1. FUNKY BROADWAY-- Dyke & the Blazers
2. AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH-- Marvin & Tammi
3. TURN TO STONE-- Four Tops
4. I WAS MADE TO LOVE HER-- Stevie Wonder
5. YOU GAVE ME SOMETHING-- Fantastic Four

6. MAKE ME YOURS-- Betty Swan
7. SOME KINDA WONDERFUL-- Soul Brothers Six
8. I WANNA TESTIFY-- Parliament
9. TRAMP-- Otis & Carla
10. BABY, I LOVE YOU-- Howard Tate

11. BABY PLEASE COME BACK-- J.J. Barnes
12. GROOVIN'-- Young Rascals
13. RESPECT-- Aretha Franklin
14. SWEETEST THING THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN-- Chris Bartley
15. HYPNOTIZED-- Linda Jones

More to Come. --RoadDog
