Where Were You March 6, 1975?-- Part 1

After playing the songs from March 6, 1965, Stroud jumped ahead ten years to that date 1975.

I was in my second year of teaching and we had just bought a new house in Round Lake Beach for $33,000 at 1013 Morningside. They broke ground on St. Patrick's Day and we moved in that June. How about $33,000 for a house? That will buy you a nice car these days.

Compared to 2008, when all you had to do was "say" you had enough money to buy a house, you wouldn't believe all the hassle they put us through to get that FHA loan at 8-and-a-half percent.

Liz had just gotten a job with the Round Lake school district as well and was teaching at Beach School.

We were commuting from our apartment at Villas By the Lake in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS-- ELTON JOHN-- Another Beatle song in your radio (the #1 song this date in 1965 had been by the Beatles). John (Lennon) played on the track as Dr. Winston O. Boogie.
#9 DREAM-- JOHN LENNON--

PICK UP THE PIECES-- AVERAGE WHITE BAND-- first hit (Also known as AWB and I really liked how they formed the "w.")
DON'T CALL US, WE'LL CALL YOU-- SUGARLOAF-- back around for the first time in a number of years. (They had had an earlier hit with "Green-Eyed Lady where they didn't have to perform in the nude.)

More to Come. --RoadDog
