Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

"The Big Hurt" By the Numbers-- Part 3

Last Friday, I continued the impressive statistics that White Sox slugger Frank Thomas put up during his career, mostly with the Sox.

I continue:

4------ Number of times Thomas led the American League in on-base percentage. He also finished second and third once and fourth twice.

12----- Number of offensive categories in which Thomas is the all-time White Sox leader.

32----- Career stolen bases (he was caught 23 times). His career high was 7 in 1998. Ok, he wasn't a speed demon on the bases.

2------ Players who drove in at least 100 runs in each of their first eight full major league seasons. The other is Al Simmons from 1924-1934.

3------ Passes caught as a freshman at Auburn University where he attended on a football scholarship while playing tight end in 1986.

15----- The uniform number Thomas wore briefly before taking #35 for good.

970---- Number of games played at Comiskey Park (including as an opponent). Hit 263 homers, 746 RBIs, a .313 batting average and .433 on-base percentage.

1------ The number of autographs my nephew Andy got on Thomas' rookie card.

These Are Definitely Hall of Fame Worthy Stats. And, I Am Not Finished Yet. --RoadDog

STUPID QUESTIONS: If the professor on "Gilligan's Island" can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix the hole in the Minnow?
