Where Were You April 3, 1966?-- Part 2

Bob Stroud went back to April 3, 1966, on his Rock and Roll Roots Time Warp April 3rd.

LITTLE LATIN LUPE LU-- MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS-- From Detroit, Michigan, covering a song by the Righteous Brothers a few years earlier. (A great example of Frat Rock.)
I'LL GO CRAZY-- BUCKINGHAMS-- Very first local hit by Chicago's own Buckinghams, a cover of a James Brown tune on the USA label. (I thought it was a cover of a Beatles tune.)

TIME WON'T LET ME-- OUTSIDERS-- Band from Cleveland charting with their first of four hits. (Another example of Frat Rock.)
SHAPES OF THINGS-- YARDBIRDS-- The British Invasion was still in full swing. recorded here in Chicago and in the Top Ten. (My favorite Yardbirds tune.)

INSIDE LOOKING OUT-- ANIMALS-- Grand Funk railroad had a cover on their second albums in 1970. (There are not too many 1966 songs that I don't know. This is one of them.)
SECRET AGENT MAN-- JOHNNY RIVERS-- The Whiskey-A-Go-Go Sound. Also written by the great P.F. Sloan. (A classic.)

ELUSIVE BUTTERFLY-- BOB LIND-- Here's one I've had a soft spot for ever since the first day I heard it. A one Hit Wonder. (OK, Bob. I kinda' like it too.)
19TH NERVOUS BREAKDOWN-- ROLLING STONES--

More to Come. --RoadDog
