It's Them, Not Me: $4.07 to $4.20 Gas, What Next?

Gas here in the Fox Lake, Illinois, area is anywhere from a low of $4.07 to a high of $4.20. That's not too far off the record high back in 2008.

After a steady weekly rise, it has remained steady at these ridiculous rates. Which gives rise to the question, what happens next?

Unfortunately, I don't know who, or what combination of the Evil Axis is responsible for the price hike. And that would be Big Oil, speculators or the oil producing countries.

It is possible that they have taken it as high as they dare. At these levels, the government gets involved (and they haven't yet). I'm sure they don't want the free-fall they had the last time.

Then again, this might just be the calm before the storm. Give people a chance to get used to the $4+ prices before the "summer-driving season" kicks in and they can use that as the reason to raise prices.

If the latter is the case, I'm hoping their greed gets the better of them and the price of a gallon of gas goes to $6+. Hopefully, this would focus world attention on the Axis and major steps taken to control them.

Perhaps, oil trading will be stopped. Perhaps the price of a barrel of oil will be set at something like $30 or $40.

Anyway, This Is Frightening. --RoadDog

STUPID QUESTION: Nothing at all funny about this travesty.
