Chicago's First Blues Brothers

Most have heard of the John Belushi-Dan Ackroyd Blues Brothers from Chicago, but actually, there was a real pair of brothers singing the blues, often bawdy, back on the 30s, 40s and 50s.

They influenced artists such as Louis Prima, Chuck Berry and Led Zeppelin.

Their names were Joe and Charlie McCoy who made their mark, made money, but died penniless. Even their grave is unmarked.

I thought I'd mention it in this blog because of its music connection. I'll be writing about them in my history blog at http://cootershistorything.blogspot.com.

But, were They Soul Men? --RoadDog
