JSS: Rainiest April-- Heading for Springfield-- Green Grass, Yellow Daffs

JSS-- Just Some Stuff

1. RAINIEST APRIL-- Read in the Tribune yesterday that this was the rainiest April ever in the Chicagoland area. I sure believe it. Last spring was very rainy also and all the crabapple trees in the area came down with some sort of a fungus and couldn't keep their leaves. They are all budding again and hope we don't have a repeat.

The Chain of Lakes is now no wake. But our boat is still out in the barn in Hebron.

2. HEADING FOR SPRINGFIELD-- In about an hour, we head out for Springfield for a Sons of Confederate Veterans meeting. Of course, we'll be taking Route 66 there and back for much of our drive.

3. GREEN GRASS, YELLOW DAFFS-- With all the rain and cool temperatures, the grass is going crazy. My daffodils are really blooming right now along with the hyacinths. Tulips are starting to open. Could Spring be here?

FINAL STUPID QUESTION: Did you ever notice that if you blow into a dog's face, it gets mad. Yet, when you take him for a ride in a car, he immediately sticks his head right out the window. Must be something about human bad breath.
