Another Storm and Beat-Down Heat

I'm beginning to think Uncle Al Gore has something with all this global warming stuff. we have certainly been having some bad weather this summer.

First, winter lingered well into spring and it wasn't until July that the weather got nice. Then, we had a drought, a "derecho," and then massive amounts of rains. What started out as one of the driest Julys on record, ended up as the wettest.

We even lost a small tree to the derecho.

Then, we had a stretch of five days with some of the hottest periods ever. For the last seven days, it got hot again with days over 90 degrees and humidity at 90+%. I can handle hot and humidity as long as we have a breeze and that was a big problem. We are at one of the highest places in Illinois and usually always have a wind, but not now.

We just had a mean little storm pass through. We were "forced" to remain at Donovan's Reef in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, (too hot to go boating) and have another round. Looks like we'll be having different rounds of storms coming through the rest of the night.
