How to Enjoy the Local Area and Not Make BO Richer

These last three days, we stayed close to home again...but had a real good time doing it.

MONDAY, AUGUST 8th-- I got some boat floating in before the storms arrived in the afternoon. A boat float is good because we turn off the engine, float, read and listen to the radio. Saves gas and I sure enjoy it.

Met Sue and Paul returning from Sturgis in their RV and trailer pulling a motorcycle and had half-price pizza at the Dill Pickle in Spring Grove on US-12. I'd never had a reuben pizza before. I recommend it.

The 50 cent drafts at the Legion on Nippersink Lake.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 9th-- Boated with friends Kevin and Kelly over to the tiki bar at Electric Harbor on the east shore of Fox Lake for $2 cheeseburger and fries. Met a World War II veteran who served on LSTs, Landing Ship Tanks, or, as the vets called them, Large, Slow-Moving Targets. Some great stories. See my history blog at http://cootershistorything.blogspot.com.

With all this rain, the poor lawn tractor sure was doing some chugging.

Met friends at Fire Wood on Il-120 in McHenry for 50 cent drafts and 50 cent tacos. This is our Bears home for the Usual Suspects on Sunday afternoons. Bought the new Luke Bryan CD at Best Buy and had a few more at the Twisted Moose on Il-31.
