Around here, we all know it. We pay more for gas than anybody in the country.
Of course, the main factor in the price of gas at the pump is the price of a barrel of oil. The Axis of Evil (Big Oil, Speculators and Oil-producing Countries) have worked together to get the prices to their current levels. They make more money taking it out of our pockets.
In Chicago and area surrounding it, this is further made worse by the taxes and fees placed on it by ALL LEVELS of government.
Then, there is that annual kick up in price due to mandatory reformulated gas which causes a temporary shortage in the spring.
The United States imports more than half its oil and our two biggest importers are Mexico and Canada!! This really surprised me. Our two neighbors are getting rich off us!! And, of course, those who own the oil in our country are getting very rich as well.
Mexico should be sending some of this new money to the US to care for all there nationals who are here and getting free benefits.
