JSS: Hurricane Time Back Home-- Pretty Nice Here

JSS-- Just Some Stuff

1. HURRICANE TIME BACK HOME-- Just called Mom in Goldsboro, North Carolina, (around 100 miles from the coast) who said she just lost electricity. It is windy and raining, but she's seen much worse, including hurricanes Fran and Floyd as well as Hazel back in 1954.

2. PRETTY NICE HERE-- Here in northeast Illinois, (about a 1000 miles from Goldsboro) we have a beautiful day with sunny skies, light breezes and temps in the 80s. We'll be going out boating for our breakfast at McDonald's in a little bit. Tough life, but I'm just the guy to do it.

After a float, figuring on doing some yard work and later meeting friends at Captain's to listen to a band from 7 to 9.

3. GAS GOUGE CONTINUES-- Gas here in Spring Grove at $3.95 and $3.90 in Fox Lake, Illinois. It jumped 20 cents earlier this week due to a gas line problem. The GRBs decided it was time to make some money.

Of course, with Hurricane Irene, gas prices will be going up even more as more GRBs make some profit off others hardships.

I need to fill up the '85 Firebird, which unfortunately uses premium, so that will be at least $4.15 or more. But, I haven't put any gas in it since I took it out of storage back in June, so can't complain.

Just Some Stuff. --RoadDog

UNIVERSAL TRUTHS: I wish Google maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option. Same with GPS.
