The poor crabapple trees are fast losing their leaves for a second summer in a row because of all the rain in the spring. Japanese beetles nowhere near as bad as in the past. However, the crabgrass is having a bumper crop.
More rain last night in a storm, but no trees are limbs down.
The yard a mass of yellow as the blackeyed susans take center stage and there are a lot of them. Also blooming: purple coneflowers, mums, daylillies, coreopsis, gladifora, blue salvia, hostas, yarrow and some kind of a tall yellow flower.
The yard is a blaze of color from one end to the other.
