61.  JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK--  10-25--  Round Lake Beach, $6--  Something about safe, seedy motels as opposed to expensive dangerous ones.

62.  KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES--  10-26--  Fox Lake, $5--  Something mighty strange about the new couple on the cul-de-sac.

63.  THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN--  10-26--  Fox Lake, $5--  A real who-dun-it, the murder that is.

64.  DR. STRANGE--  11-8--  Woodstock, $5--  Call me Dr. strange, not Mr. Doctor  It's "Groundhog Day" all over again in the town where I saw the movie which is where the original was filmed.  Wong's sense of humor.

65.  HACKSAW RIDGE--  11-15--  Round Lake Beach, $6--  As much blood and gore as you can take.  Move over "Saving Private Ryan"'s D-Day scenes.

For the year, I saw 65 movies.  I won't be seeing anymore until after the holidays.

58.  SULLY--  10-20--  Fox Lake, $6--  "Brace for impact!!"    FAA tries to fry a hero.

59.  STORKS--  10-20--  Fox Lake, $6--  Wolf bridge, Wolf boat, Wolf plane.  Pretty smart group of wolves.

60.  MIDDLE SCHOOL: THE WORST YEARS OF MY LIFE--  10-25--  Round Lake Beach, $6--  Battling the man (principal), bullies, rules and loss of brother.

53.  DON'T BREATHE--  9-13--  Woodstock, $5--  Never count the old guy or rottweiler down.  They keep coming back.  Found myself pulling for the real bad guys.

54.  DEEPWATER HORIZON--  10-4--  Round Lake Beach,  Free--  This one wore me out after the explosion.  Another case of corporate greed.  Make that profit at any cost.

55.  SNOWDEN--  10-5--  Fox Lake, $5--  Makes you understand why he did what he did.

56.  MISS PEREGRINE'S  HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN--  10-11--  Woodstock, $5--  The eyes have it.  I was wondering why the twins dressed like that?

49.  BAD MOMS--  8-19--  Fox Lake, $6--  Moms tired of being the perfect moms and go considerably crazy.  Way too many "F" words though, but hilarious anyway.

50.  BEN HUR--  8-24--  Fox Lake, $5--  That great chariot race and Jesus Christ too.  It's the Romans versus the Jews in Jerusalem.

51.  WAR DOGS--  8-31--  Fox Lake, $5--  Moral to the Story:  Better to get the crumbs and be happy than to go for the whole pie and end up with nothing.

52.  SUICIDE SQUAD--  9-8--  Fox Lake, $6--    Nice they ain't.  Cooperative they aren't.  Hard core they are.  You just have to love the Joker's girlfriend.

45.  GHOSTBUSTERS--  8-4--  Fox Lake, $6--  This time its the women out to take care of those pesky ghosts and goblins.  Lots of cameos and flashbacks of the former folks.

46.  THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS--  8-9--  Woodstock, $5--  Watch out for that "Wascally Wabbit."  making friends the hard way.

47.  STAR TREK: BEYOND--  8-11--  Fox Lake, $6--  Lose your starship, find another starship, save the huge space station.  Love my Trek.

48.  JASON BOURNE--  8-15--  Fox Lake, $6-- Enough action for Athens, Greece, Berlin and Las Vegas.  All the action you could ever want in a movie. Way too many "F" words, though.

42.  ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS--  6-1--  Fox Lake, $5--  That Johnny Depp can sure play warped characters.  The Mad Hatter indeed.  Gets his kicks.

43.  INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE--  7-12--  Fox Lake, $5--  Those pesky aliens have another go at us and almost win this time.  But, at the last minute...  You know.

44.  ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE--  8-4--  Fox Lake, Free--  Skratch almost demolishes the earth in his never-ending quest for that acorn.

37.  THE JUNGLE BOOK--  5-11--  Fox Lake, $5--  A bear like you've never seen before.  Great job Bill.

38.  THE DARKNESS--  5-17--  Round Lake Beach, $5.  Another "Poltergeist," but this time with angry Indian spirits.   Stay out of caves and if you see something DON'T take it with you.

39.  MONEY MONSTER--  5-15--  Fox Lake, $5--  Who was the real "Bad" guy.  Total greed.

40.  CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR--   5-25--  Fox Lake, $5--  Splitting up the old gang.  Plus we now have Spidey and Ant Man.

29.  LONDON HAS FALLEN--  3-15--  Woodstock, $5--  Saving the president's life again and killing lots and lots of terrorists.

30.  ANIMAL HOUSE--  3-15--  Woodstock, $6--  An oldie but goodie.  Always good to see it on the big screen and a part of a salute to Harold Ramis.  "Christ!  Seven good years of college down the drain!"

31.  10 CLOVERFIELD LANE--  Fox Lake, $5--  "The "Room, Part 2"  Was there a real threat or was John Goodman just being mean to them?

32.  ZOOTOPIA--  3-16--  Fox Lake, $5--  Young country bunny goes to the Big City and overcomes all obstacles and finds a way for the peaceful Predators from going animal.

25.  EDDIE THE EAGLE-- 3-7--  Fox Lake, $6--  They said he couldn't do it (downhill skier).  he proved them wrong.

26.  TRIPLE 9--  3-9--  Fox Lake, $5--  Dirty cops battling dirty Russian Jewish gangsters as well as local low-lifes.  Hard to tell who was the bad guy.

27.  WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT-- 3-9--  Fox Lake, $5--  Tina Fey reports from Afghanistan.  WTF.  Way too much swearing.

28.  GODS OF EGYPT--  3-10--  Fox Lake, $6--  That Set was a real baddie.  Killed his brother, , grandfather and tried to do the same to his nephew.

23.  RISEN-- 2-25--  Fox Lake, $6--  Christ crucified and risen and aftermath through a Roman's eyes.

24.  RACE--  2-29--  Fox Lake, $6--  Battling racism at home and Nazis in Berlin.  Four Gold Olympic Medals!!

Movie Scratches: Brooklyn-- Room-- Choice-- Caesar

Movie Scratches--  A dog's-eye view to today's movies.

17.  BROOKLYN--  2-10--  Fox Lake, $5--  Coming to a new life in America from Ireland, finding one, and then finding one back in Ireland.  Best movie I've seen in a long time, and I've seen a lot of movies.  Thank goodness for Mrs. Kelly setting her straight.

18.  THE ROOM--  2-16--  Fox Lake, $5--  It was his whole world for his whole life of five years.  Getting out of "The Room" was only the beginning of their problems.  I have now seen all nine movies nominated for Best Picture, first time I've seen all of them.

19.  THE CHOICE--  2-16--  Fox Lake, $5--  "You bother me."  She didn't like him at first, but sure came around.  Sure enjoyed all those beautiful coastal scenes around Wilmington, North Carolina.

20.  HAIL CAESAR!--  2-18--  Fox Lake, $6--  "I struck an actor in anger."  Considering the nut jobs he had to deal with I'm surprised he didn't strike more.  More crazies than you can shake a stick at.

13.  THE FINEST HOUR--  2-3--  Fox Lake, $5--  Almost unbelievable rescue battling a huge storm in Massachusetts.  Those waves wore me out.

14.  THE BOY--  2-4--  Fox Lake, $6--  The boy doll turns out to be the all-grown up mental case.

15.  DIRTY GRANDPA--  2-4--  Fox Lake, $6--  A different kind of "bro" trip.  Grandpa steers grandson away from a horrible wedding decision.  Way, Way, Way TOO much swearing.

16.  PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES--  2-10--  Fox Lake, $5--  Paul McCartney's twin has strange way of romancing a gal between fighting the brain eaters.

9.  SPOTLIGHT--  1-21--  Fox Lake, $6--  The Catholic Church trying unsuccessfully to hide something horrible because of the efforts of a small group of dedicated journalists.

10.  THE FIFTH WAVE--  1-25--  Fox Lake, $6--  They want Earth, but without the humans.  Rotten U.S. Army.  definitely sequel time.

11.  STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS--  1-28--  Fox Lake, $6--  The Force is strong with her.  A new generation of Jedi.  Han Solo killed by his and Leia's son.  OK, it was the second time I saw t at the theater, but some things just need to be seen on the big screen.

12.  KUNG FU PANDA 3--  2-3--  Fox Lake, $5--  Po meets real Dad, trains clunky relatives and battles Chai.  he also founds his chi.

5.  STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS--  1-15--  Fox Lake, $6--  Han Solo and Princess Leia's son sure looked a lot like Harry Potter's Professor Snape.

6.  REVENANT--  1-19--  Round Lake Beach, $5--  "You came all this way just for revenge?"  Leonardo is the original takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'.

7.  13 HOURS: SECRET SOLDIERS OF BENGHAZI--  1-19--  Round Lake Beach, $5--  It was the Alamo all over again.  Can't tell who is on your side and who wants to kill you.

8.  THE BIG SHORT--  1-20--  Fox Lake, $5--  GRBs all over the place.  I hate GRBs, Greedy Rich _____.  I came out still hating them as I figured I would.

2.  DADDY'S HOME--  1-13--  Fox Lake, $5--  "Can't keep inside the cones."  Step-Dad and Real Dad competition.  Dusty gets his payback.

3.  JOY--  1-13--  Fox Lake, $5--  Takes a lickin' but keeps on coming back.  Overcoming the odds.

4.  SISTERS--  1-14--  Fox Lake, $6--  The guide to how to wreck your house.  Very funny, but a plethora of swear words.
