Still Wondering About the Russia "V" Stats

As of yesterday, March 29, these are the total number of cases and deaths in select countries. The worst hit so far:

United States:  124,697 cases and 2,227 deaths
Italy:  92,472 cases and 10,023 deaths
China:  81,439 cases and 3,300 deaths
Spain:  78,797 cases and 6,528 deaths

Then, there are these countries:

India:  979 cases and 25 deaths
Russia:  1,534 cases and 8 deaths
Mexico:  993 cases and 20 deaths

Looking at the rest of the countries, it appears that the smaller a country is and the poorer a country is, the fewer the cases.  Or, perhaps they just aren't or can't report the cases and deaths.  We know that Russia is extremely secretive.

I sure would like to know the story with Russia and why Mexico and India are so low.

Very Suspicious.

Things that make you go HHhhMMMmmmNNnnn.  Either that, or they're doing one of their secretive things again.

America's Shutdown-- Part 2: World War II Vets Still Leading

They didn't let the Japanese or Germans stop them 70 years ago and they are sure not going to let some wimps in government do it now. What with the federal park shutdown, the honor flights of World War II veterans are still going to DC and "charging" ahead to see the monument on the Mall honoring them.

I heard the police were supposed to arrest them, but so far haven't. That would be the dumbest thing imaginable.

And, did I hear right, is Congress still getting their paychecks? You lead by example and this is not setting a good one. All government decision-makers should also volunteer to be "furloughed" and not get paid.

Even better, a permanent furlough of their jobs would seem to be in order. We could use a few intelligent people (both Democratand Republican).

Get a Clue. --RoadDog

America's Shutdown-- Part 1: Sorry Folks!

Sense of Humor.

I've seen the picture of John Candy from "Vacation" standing there telling the Griswald's that Wally World was closed. Only this time, he is saying, "Sorry folks, America's closed. Moose out front shoulda told you."

Then there is the one of a smiling Queen Elizabeth, waving and saying, "Quick!! Time to take back the colonies!!"

Americans Worrying About America-- RoadDog's News and Observation

A recent AP/Yahoo News poll shows that 77% of Americans are worrying about the state of affairs. With all this inflation and surging gas prices, only 30 % approve of the job the president is doing, and that number drops to 19% when it comes to Congress.

As far as political party alliance, 88% of the Democrats think the country is on the wrong track, That number with Republicans is 62%. A huge number oppose the war in Iraq.

I don't know about anyone else, but I can't see that Congress is taking any steps to alleviate or even address the oil problem. And I hold the Democrats to blame for that. I don't expect much help from Republicans on this issue. Democrats hold the majority in both houses. It is time to do something.
