Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

Now That Halloween Creep Has Begun, How About A Scary Song?
Now that the stores are selling off or putting away their Back-To-School Creep stuff, I see that they are starting to put out the Halloween Creep stuff-- two months early..
As I was making entries on the blog today, I am listening to You Tube which has made one of many personal listening sets based on songs I have played on their service. They do an absolutely wonderful job of it.
An hour or so ago, they put on the Guess Who's "Shakin' All Over." on my Mix: Illusion "Did You See Her Eyes." I wish I had known about this song as a good scary one back when I was deejaying as I absolutely would have used it in my Halloween shows.
And, this version is played along with Walt Disney's scary 1929 "Skeleton Dance" cartoon. They go perfectly together.
Check out St.PeteArtisan's "The Guess Who - Shakin' All Over -- Skeleton Dance on You Tbe.

JSS: Back-to-School Creep Here-- Top Color-- Decisions
JSS-- Just Some Stuff.
1. BACK-TO-SCHOOL CREEP-- We are deep into. Every store is advertising back-to-school specials and they all have big displays. I sure used to hate this, but back when I was a student and a teacher, it didn't start until August.
I knew that school was around the corner and sure didn't need to be reminded.
But now it starts right after (and a little before) the 4th of July.
I also have a weakness for these back-to-school sales and buy stuff I don't need.
2. TOP COLOR-- The yard is right at peak color right now. I can't look at it enough. Color here, color there. Color all over the place. Like I said, I try to have color all season long. This is as good as it gets!!
3. DECISIONS, DECISIONS-- As I wrote in my RoadDog's RoadLog Blog, these next several days will be ones of hard decisions to make between Antioch's Taste of Summer and McHenry's Fiesta Days. Right now I am thinking Taste of Summer tonight and Fiesta Days Saturday and Sunday and Taste later Sunday afternoon.
But, We'll See. --RoadDog

JSS: Fast Clouds-- Chipper's Digging-- School Supplies
JSS-- Just Some Stuff
1. FAST CLOUDS-- Sitting out FP (Front Porch) this morning enjoying my breakfast, I looked up and had never seen clouds moving so fast.
2. CHIPPER'S DIGGING-- Also FP, my front porch Chipper (chipmunk) has been a busy little guy (or gal) digging into all my container plants. I imagine looking for bulbs. He'll be in trouble if that kills any of my flowers, but he deposits the dirt on the floor. I tried to get him to sweep up, but he won't.
3. SCHOOL SUPPLIES-- Hate to tell you kids, but the big stores have their school supplies out now. They came out the day after July 4th. First pushing Christmas, now this. I used to hate seeing the school supplies come out as that meant that I had to go back to my teaching job, but not so much anymore.

A 50-Year Christmas Comparison 1963-2013-- Part 1: Christmas Creep and Black Friday
From the December 2013 AARP Bulletin "A Boomer's History of the Holidays."
The holiday season has changed drastically in the last 50 years. Perhaps the biggest difference is in the increasing "Christmas Creep" merchandising which had moved Christmas sales into October (and now September. I saw stuff in September this past year. And, of course, there is now Back-to-School Creep which starts in early July.)).
And, of course, mention "Black Friday" and opening stores on Thanksgiving to someone back in 1963 and they would look at you puzzled and ask if you are out of your mind. No one gets up at 4 a.m. back then except maybe to get the turkey started.

YOU THINK ENGLISH IS EASY? The wind was too strong to wind the sail in.
