JSIS: Middle Class, E-Books, Barnes & Noble
JSIS: Just Some Interesting Stuff. I'm not sure when or where I got these bits.
1. MIDDLE CLASS-- America's Middle Class in Crisis. Two recessions and a couple stock market crashes have led to high unemployment among this group. Plus, Republican and Tea Party attacks on unions continues.
2. E-BOOKS--Amazon says E-Books are outselling paper books. Also, CD Online site is closing.
3. BARNES & NOBLE-- For sale after years of declining sales. And, we have already lost Borders.

Obama Is Time's Person of the Year...Again
From the Dec. 20, 2012, Chicago Tribune by Reuters and Tribune Staff.
He was Person of the Year in 2008 and repeated for 2012, mostly, I suppose, because of his presidential victory in November. I'm a bit surprised though, because he has done little toward all that "CHANGE" he was promising, promising and promising back in 2008.
And, before that, has Illinois ever had a worse U.S. senator? All he did was run for president. No representation there.
Let's hope he actually does something to earn the honor this term.
Personally, my choice would have been the Middle Class for valiantly trying to hold on while the GRBs take steps to wipe them out and make themselves richer. Either them, or the Unions who enabled so many to get into the middle class. They are in a life and death battle with the GRBs (and their allies the Tea Party and that political party) to even survive. They are on the ropes.
Over in my Cooter's History Thing Blog, I will post on Time's Man of the Year history in a little while.

It's Them, Not Me: Middle Class Dying While the Rich Get Richer
A study just out has the Middle Class, the backbone of our country suffering through the worst decade since World War II in terms of finances.
Wages continue to stagnate while health care and college tuition are rising drastically and there is a general loss of mid-wage jobs. Yes, jobs are being created, but at close to minimum wage and few, if any benefits. A striking 85% of families classified as Middle Class say they are having difficulty maintaining their standard of living.
IN THE MEANTIME, the more affluent are faring very well, widening the inequality that already exists.
And then, those folks whom I term GRBs have their own candidate for president in Der Mitt and now Mitt, Jr.. They and their Tea Party minions have declared war on the public sector in an attempt to further destroy the Middle Class.
And, Obama is not the answer.
