Well, the predictions are in.  Punxsutawney Phil says six more week s of winter out in Pennsylvania.  More locally to here in northeast Illinois, Woodstock Willie says it will be an early winter.

19.  *HI-DE-HO--  Blood, Sweat & Tears    #14   Great horns and that David Clayton Thomas voice.  Was he from Canada?  Written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin

Drummer/lyricist with Canadian band Rush.

Their breakthrough album was 2012 in 1976.  More of an album band than singles.  Had eight Top 100s with "New World Man" (#21-1982) as only Top 40 hit.

JSS: Winter Arrives Early-- Halloween Decorations-- Even Cold in Myrtle Beach-- How About That Wall MR. PRESIDENT?

JSS--  Just Some Stuff.

1.  WINTER ARRIVES EARLY--   It definitely has arrived early.  We had 5 inches of snow on Halloween and another 5 inches  yesterday.  And today, temps never much got past 20 degrees all day.

2.  HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS-- Unfortunately, I had taken down the Halloween outside decorations but not brought them inside.  Now they are covered with snow.  I'll have to wait for a warm up.  I sure hope it gets a bit warmer.

3.  EVEN COLD IN MYRTLE BEACH--  I usually listen to WVCO, 94.9 the Surf in North Myrtle Beach most mornings and they are talking of temperatures below freezing and wind chill tomorrow of around 20 degrees.  So, I don't feel so bad.

4.  HOW ABOUT THAT WALL, MR. PRESIDENT?--  I know our president would like to build a wall along our border with Mexico.  But I have a better idea for a wall.  Let's build it where an even bigger problem exists, and that would be along our northern border.

Now, don't get me wrong, I like Canadians, BUT I sure don't like THEIR WEATHER!!!  I think they should keep their weather on their own side of the wall and quit sending it to us.

Come On, Mr. President.  Build That Wall.  --RoadWall

Congratulations to Brenda Lee and Ray Stevens who are now own the Music City (Nashville) Walk of Fame.

Deaths: Stompin Tom-- "The Hockey Song"

STOMPIN' TOM CONNORS, 77

Died March 6th.  Dubbed "Stompin' Tom" for habit of pounding floor with his left foot during performances.  Wide commercial success eluded him during his four year career, but, "His songs are regarded as veritable national anthems thanks to their unabashed embrace of all things Canadiana."

I had never heard of him before and sure wish I had.  Just the nickname would have caused me to give him a listen.  I just got off another extended time on You Tube listening to his music and I know for a fact I would have liked him.  I'll have to yell at buddy Canadian Al the next time I see him as he should have mentioned Stompin' Tom.

This guy is another Pat Dailey who has huge regional success around Ohio, the Great Lakes and Key West.

Three of his songs:Sudbury Saturday Night," "Bud the Spud" and "The Hockey Song" are played at every Toronto Maple Leaf home games.  Others that I especially liked were "Zakuska Polka," "The Bug Song," "She Don't Speak English" and "Cross Country" which could easily serve as a Canadian National Anthem.

I'll sure be back to listen to more of his songs and believe I'll have to order some of his CDs.
