This is a fairly new one in the Chicago Tribune. This was in the June 27th comic section.
Pickles is about a grandpa and grandma dealing with family, the world and each other. Grandpa Earl reminds me a lot of myself.
FIRST PANEL
WIFE: Oh good, you're back. Did you get the tomato sauce?
EARL: Oops! I knew I was forgetting something (as he holds a grocery bag).
SECOND PANEL:
WIFE: That's what I sent you to the store for...TOMATO SAUCE!!
THIRD PANEL:
EARL: Sorry about that, but look...I found my favorite brand of sardines! They're hard to find and they were on sale.
FOURTH PANEL:
WIFE: Sardines? Why do you always think we need sardines? We already have a pantry full of them.
FIFTH PANEL:
EARL: (Now here's the one that fits me.) I believe if you find something you like, you should buy a lifetime supply, because they're probably going to stop making it.
SIXTH PANEL:
WIFE: Yeah, well, to me, one can of those things is a lifetime supply.
As I continue to stock up on VHS and cassette tapes before they take them away from me. Oh, yes, and CDs as well. Plus, things to play them on. This struck home. Although I'm not a fan of sardines, I'm sure Liz must often feel like the wife.

Retirement Q & A: Question: What is the biggest gripe of retirees? Answer: Not enough time to get things done. (It really is!!)
Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

It's Them, Not Me-- Sure Hits Home for Me
Recently, one of my favorite comic, Zits, had a strip that I couldn't agree more with.
FIRST PANEL: The dad is watching as Jeremy and Pierce are on their blackberries or I-Pods or whatever.
JEREMY-- "The next big thing is..."
PIERCE-- I've heard they're coming out with..."
SECOND PANEL: Dad is still watching with somewhat of a bewildered look on his face. Jeremy and Pierce are walking off, still deep in conversation.
JEREMY-- "Pretty soon everybody is going to be..."
PIERCE-- "It won't be long before..."
JEREMY-- "So Much faster than..."
PIERCE-- "It's right around the corner."
LAST PANEL: Jeremy's dad looks to his wife and says "I'm sick of the future."
My feeling exactly, Dad.

Who's Gettin' Old?
Came across the November 14th Zits comic strip, one of my favorites. Jeremy and his dad are having a discussion. His dad is more my age group, 56, and then, there's his son Jeremy who is in high school. They don't always understand each other, and Jeremy thinks his dad is hopeless.
First: Jeremy looks at his father and says: "I'm on this Beatles kick."
Father-- amazed that Jeremy might like the same thing: "It's great stuff, isn't it?"
Second- Father continuing as his eyes focus up in remembrance: "Sgt. Pepper was the soundtrack of my teenage years." He continues, "Kind of like...kind of like..."
Third-- Jeremy: "Like a Gnarls Barkley ring tone is for mine?"
Father: "Yeah. But not."
Well, they tried to connect. Who says I'm getting old. Then there was brother Bob who pretty well wrecked my copy of Sgt. Pepper's while I was away at college. Thanks a lot, Bob.
