I really hate it when there is too much going on around here to do it all. Even with this very cool weather that arrived yesterday.
We've already decided not to go out to the NIU-Murray State game in DeKalb. We do plan to go to the Joe Gliniewicz benefit at out Fox Lake American Legion at 5 p.m.. There will be food and a band. later, we hope to get over to Saufen Und Spiel in nearby Johnsburg. a Rolling Stones tribute band called Hot Rocks is playing.
We also have a rib cook-off at Route 12 Bar and Grill and an End-of-the-Summer Party at Stormy Monday.

Listen to this man. Seven years of college, you know. Trying to reason with 2020 and, now, 2022.

Another Pretty Good Weekend
FRIDAY--
After some financial planning, we went to Gasoline Alley for buck beers overlooking Grasslake. They're having neighbor problems and no drinking on deck so left after one.
Went to the nearby Dry Dock Bar of Grasslake Road and enjoyed buck beer until overrun with a coven of witches.
SATURDAY--
Took the train downtown to an appreciation luncheon for Liz's old school, Our Lady of Grace, in the Union League Club. Pretty fancy.
Saw the Occupy Chicago folks out in front of the Chicago Board of Trade on Jackson Street (old Route 66). There was also a march and plenty of police in attendance. reminded us of the old anti-war demonstrations back in the 60s-70s.
Played NTN at the Snuggery in Union Station. Back in Fox Lake, went to the Squaw Bar for their Children of Fallen Soldiers benefit. Band and deejay playing. Bought two Chinese lanterns for launch, but didn't stay to see them go up.
Stopped at a new place, Vinny's Dawg House, in Fox Lake and watched some of the World Series and BlackHawk game. Came home and watched the end of that unbelievable Wisconsin-Michigan State game.
Too Much Fun. --RoadDog
