Doing That Ol' Coronavirus Thing: Sturgis-- Schools-- MAC-- Pam's-- Indy 500

Seems to be the thing these days:

1.  STURGIS--  Well, we'll be seeing what impact having a huge number of people congregating in one area has on the spread of the cv.  250,000 folks and probably not much in the way of masks or social distancing.

2.  SCHOOLS--  Chicago has put off opening schools for awhile.  All schools should do that and don't open until a vaccine is found or the cv has run its course.

3.  MAC--  The Mid American Conference canceled all fall sports, including football, until spring.  Good move.  All college football teams should follow suit.  (Just a moment ago I saw that the Big 10,11,12,13,14 had also put off fall til spring.)

4.  PAM'S--  Saturday we went to Pam's house in Johnsburg and got together with friends who had move to New Mexico.  We social distanced.

5.  INDY 500--  The Indy 500 did the right thing and won't allow people to see the race August 23.  The friends from New Mexico and I have seen the last eight Indys.

OCTOBER 8, MONDAY--  Columbus Day**   Native American Day**   His coming was not a red letter day for them.

OCTOBER 9, TUESDAY--  Sub/Hoagie/Hero day**   I love 'em all.

OCTOBER 10, WEDNESDAY--  ER Nurses Day**   Mental Health Day**

OCTOBER 11, THURSDAY--  Sausage Pizza Day**   Well, but it would be better more loaded with "Stuff."  The more the better.

OCTOBER 12, FRIDAY--  Farmers Day**  And we have a bunch of them around the Spring Grove, Illinois, area.   Gumbo Day**  Bon Ton, you know.

OCTOBER 13, SATURDAY--  U.S. Navy's 243rd Birthday**   Anchors Aweigh Mr Boys!!!    Motorcycle Ride Day   I'd love to, but too scared.

OCTOBER 14, SUNDAY--  Bald & Free Day**    Clergy Appreciation Day**

Last Three Weekends-- Part 2

The last three weekends were certainly a varied lot.  The first one was in Savannah and Tybee Island, the second one was in Panama City Beach, Florida.

MAY 1ST, FRIDAY--  Perfect weather all weekend.  Enjoyed the deck, walking and wading in the gulf waters (really cold, though) and good times.  Went to McDonald's for breakfast.  later we went to the tiki bar at the osprey Hotel next door to us and then to Salty Sue's out on US-98 for the smoked wings special and their $1.50 Bud select.  Had a great talk with some gung-ho UGA fans.  One man had an amazing knowledge of college football and even remembered NIU beat Alabama by a 18-16 score back in 2003.  Huge crowd at Donovan's Reef.

MAY 2ND, SATURDAY--  This was the BIG day for motorcycles on the annual Thunder Beach Rally.  Great people, but way too much congestion.  We went to Pompano Joe's for happy hour and a huge nacho platter while watching the Kentucky Derby.  Later went to the Hofbrauhaus and ended up at Donovan's Reef as usual.  Not as crowded as last night, but we did meet a lot of local characters.

MAY 3RD, SUNDAY--  Less congestion as the bikers are heading home.  We met some friends of ours from back home, Sue and Paul, at Sharky's for dinner then went over to their RV park and sat outside and watched the Hawks game.  Hawks won!1  Then to Donovan's.

Sun and Beach.  Not Bad.  --RoadDog
