Ten Songs to Welcome Summer 2018: "Summertime Blues"
Well, hard to believe summer is actually here officially today what with a steady rain and temperatures in the 60s and feeling like 50s.
But, anyway, Bob Stroud did his annual Ten for Ten on Summertime. That would be ten songs having to do with summer-type things. He'll be doing it again at 10 pm tonight, CSDT on WDRV, 97.1 FM in Chicago.
SUMMER IN THE CITY-- Lovin' Spoonful
SUMMER OF '69- Bryan Adams
HOT BLOODED-- Foreigner
IN THE SUMMERTIME-- Mungo Jerry
HOT GIRLS IN LOVE-- Lover Boy
SUMMERTIME BLUES-- Who
MR. BLUE SKY-- ELO
HEAT OF THE MOMENT-- Asia
GOOD DAY SUNSHINE-- Beatles
BOYS OF SUMMER-- Don Henley
Bob Stroud will be devoting his Sunday Rock and Roll Roots radio show on the Drive, WDRV, to summer songs from the 1960s and 1970s, well worth a listen.
Name That Tune (from the above songs): "You Can Stretch Right Up And Touch The Sky." --Answer below. --RoadDog
